In general was good !

The staff especially Ricardo was top , super helpful, very attentive, always trying to help and to do the best he can to make the guest happy !

The shower installation, privacy setup in the room; the swimming pool could be warmer ; and no warm shower in the swimming pool zone

Great Central location.

Very central location. Quirky decor in the communal areas of the hotel. Calming decor in bedrooms. Great breakfast included in room rate. Great rooftop terrace. Nice indoor spa pool available for sole use by appointment. Reception staff did their best to rectify matter when initial room allocated didn't provide all the facilities advertised in a Delux room.

Exceptional

Very well decorated and a good atmosphere. Roof terrace is a plus. Staff are very helpful and kind.

There is a complimentary drink provided but if you get the juice it’s out of a carton and the wine is given in half measures. If you provide a complimentary drink then provide it.

Great experience. Staff were so helpful booking restaurants and trips. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We loved the location, individual style and character of hotel. We particularly liked the roof terrace - a big bonus feature. The staff were so friendly and helpful.

The room was a bit small. The shower in the bathroom had nowhere to put products.

Good position in the middle of old town,clean and courteous staff. Swimming pool, must be booked in,

Breakfast could have been better.

Cooked items like scrambled eggs overcooked and not changed often enough. The coffee dispenser unable to cope with traffic resulting in long waits. Lack of fresh milk. Fruit selection ok but items like fresh oranges, when in season would be nice.

Incredible Stay – They Made My Birthday Unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, this hotel went above and beyond to make our stay special. For my birthday, they surprised us with a handwritten note, a bottle of champagne in the room, and even two free drink vouchers for their stunning rooftop bar. It was such a thoughtful and personal touch—it genuinely made my day. The decor throughout the hotel was beautiful, stylish, and clearly well thought-out. Everything felt elegant and welcoming. The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of everything, making it super easy to explore. But what really sets this hotel apart is the staff. Every single person we encountered was kind, helpful, and genuinely invested in making our experience a great one. You can tell they take pride in what they do. I can’t recommend this place enough. From the ambiance to the location to the little surprises—they truly nailed it. Can’t wait to come back!

A perfect break in a lovely city!

Perfect location. Very helpful friendly staff. Great breakfast. Comfortable quiet room (we were upgraded too!). Nice little rooftop bar and quirky lounge with loads of artwork everywhere!

Honestly cant think of anything. Didn’t use pool so cannot comment on that.

Perfect location, very friendly staff

Walls n apartments are made of paper, so you can hear literally everything from the room next door. Due to this we asked to change the room and be moved to main building. Staff was extremely helpful and nice. After few days breakfast could be more diverse. Ask for Gin Sour at the roof bar. Soooo goood :)

Great location, friendly staff

Great location in Funchal! It's in the central part of the town, close to restaurants and the market. The ladies at the reception were quite nice, offering advice on hikes and attractions.

They don't have a parking lot nearby, we had to park about 5-10 minutes walking away.

We had a brilliant stay, with the unaxpected bonus of Carnival night!

Beautiful hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent buffet breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable. The location is perfect. Close to the harbour, shopping and cathedral, with some excellent restaurants in easy walking distance. We will certainly stay again when we return to Madiera!

Brilliant

Outstanding in every way. The friendly and very helpful staff helped to make our holiday in Madeira a great success, and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The excellent breakfast was also a big plus. The hotel is right next to the cathedral, so in the heart of the city, so everything was in easy walking distance. They have a lovely restaurant, O Calhau, right next door, and we went there several times because it is so good.

We can't think of anything we didn't like.
